Madonna You’ll See | A story told in 2 songs | PART 2. I’m on my own

madonna you'll see

They say that second parts were never good. Well, here’s Madonna to contradict us. You’ll See‘ is probably the best ballad she’s ever written, but what few people know is that it’s the second part of a story that started with a previous song…

Trembol | Story behind You’ll See

You’ll See is one of those songs that made me fall in love with Madonna’s music, capable of the boldest Pop and the deepest ballads.

  • I still remember going out and buying the single and playing it over and over 📻

The song was included in a compilation album of ballads that Madonna released in 1995, ‘Something to Remember‘.

By then I was unaware that this song was the 2nd part of a story that Madonna had started on her previous album with ‘Take a Bow‘. This is the only occasion in which the artist has made a sequel to a song and the video that accompanies it.

  • In the videoclip Madonna once again features bullfighter Emilio Muñoz.

Both songs were part of the image-cleansing strategy that the singer was carrying out after ‘Erotica‘.

To make ‘You’ll See’ Madonna had David Foster, who put a beautiful music to the lyrics written by the American artist.

  • In the first song (Take a Bow) Madonna was devastated by a harmful and unrequited love from which she wanted to escape.
  • In You’ll See she tells us the outcome in which she empowers herself and finds independence and happiness without him.

The song is not about revenge, it’s about empowerment. Madonna reflected in ‘Take a Bow‘ a somewhat masochistic side of her personality, willing to give everything for love. ‘You’ll See‘ reflects just the opposite side. In Madonna’s own words the song means:

Don’t fuck with me, I don’t need anybody. I can do whatever I want.

So much controversy has swirled around my career this past decade that very little attention ever gets paid to my music. The songs are all but forgotten. While I have no regrets regarding the choices I’ve made artistically, I’ve learned to appreciate the idea of doing things in a simpler way.

So without a lot of fanfare, without any distractions, I present to you this collection of ballads. Some are old, some are new. All of them are from my heart.

You can’t miss ⭐️ The best parts of You’ll See

1. The song starts with castanets, bells and a Spanish guitar, beautiful!

2.The tone becomes more serious and grave in the second line of verse. Perfect entrance to the chorus.

3. Last chorus where she proclaims herself as a strong and independent woman 💪

MADONNA | YOU'LL SEE | LYRICS

You think that I can’t live without your love?
You’ll see
You think I can’t go on another day?

You think I have nothing
Without you by my side?
You’ll see, somehow, someway

You think that I can never laugh again?
You’ll see
You think that you’ve destroyed my faith in love?

You think after all you’ve done
I’ll never find my way back home?
You’ll see, somehow, someday

All by myself
I don’t need anyone at all
I know I’ll survive
I know I’ll stay alive

All on my own
I don’t need anyone this time
It will be mine
No one can take it from me
You’ll see

You think that you are strong? But you are weak
You’ll see
It takes more strength to cry, admit defeat

I have truth on my side
You only have deceit
You’ll see, somehow, someday

All by myself
I don’t need anyone at all
I know I’ll survive
I know I’ll stay alive

I’ll stand on my own
I won’t need anyone this time
It will be mine
No one can take it from me
You’ll see

You’ll see
You’ll see
You’ll see

LYRICS IN SPANISH

Yo sola
No necesito a nadie en absoluto
Sé que sobreviviré
Sé que viviré

Todo por mi cuenta
No necesito a nadie esta vez
Será mío
Nadie puede quitármelo
Ya lo verás.
