Born to an Irish father and Japanese mother, with a sister 3 years older than him, Conan was almost never born because his mother contracted cancer while she was pregnant with him. Although doctors suggested an abortion, she never considered it and Conan Lee Gray came into the world on December 5, 1998 in California.
As a baby his family moved to Hiroshima, Japan 🍣 to care for his grandfather. When his grandfather passed away Conan returned to California.
At that time, when he was 3 years old, his parents divorced. He and his sister spent half their time with his mother and the other half with his father, who was in the military, causing Gray to move house twelve times during his childhood.
With his mother they lived in a small apartment, but with his father, who left the army to start a successful swimming pool business, they lived in a large house. His parents remade their lives by remarrying, which filled Conan with step-siblings on both sides.
As a child he suffered from frequent bullying at school because he was half Asian, although he had great friends who supported him 💪
His father’s business took a turn for the worse and with it Conan’s whole life because the atmosphere at home became very complicated. He spent most of his time in his room painting.
Both his mother and father ended up moving to Texas with his father divorced again.
Conan started creating videos at the age of 12, opening his official YouTube channel in 2013 where he mainly talked about his life in a small town in Texas. Over time his channel would grow and Gray would take the opportunity to record himself doing some music covers reaching 25 million views in a short time.
In 2017 he moved to Los Angeles, releasing a first hit single called ‘Idle Town’, followed by ‘Grow’ and ‘Generation Why’, which led him to sign with Republic Records releasing his debut EP in 2018, ‘Sunset Season’.
Conan peaked at #2 on the Billboard Heatseekers album chart kicking off his first North American tour.
In 2019, he came back with 2 new singles: ‘The Other Side’ and ‘The King’, leading straight to his 2020 debut album, ‘Kid Krow’, with big hits like ‘Maniac’ and especially ‘Heather’.

He would tour again on his ‘Comfort Crowd Tour’, later releasing the single ‘Fake’ and in 2021 ‘Overdrive’, with which he closed what he calls the “Kid Krowd” era.

The new era would kick off with his second album, ‘Superache‘ released in 2022 with the singles ‘Astronomy’ and ‘People Watching’. Then came ‘Jigsaw’ and ‘Memories’.
With this album he would go on a more extensive tour called ‘Conan Gray World Tour’, with which he toured Europe and North America 🌏.
Over the past five years, Conan Gray has established himself as one of the most influential pop stars and one of the most acclaimed songwriters of his generation. Known for his razor-sharp lyrics and the originality that characterizes all facets of his career.
In 2022 alone, she sold over 300,000 tickets, putting on sold-out shows at New York’s legendary Radio City Music Hall, Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre and London’s Eventim Apollo, as well as delivering memorable performances at Coachella.
