Cian Ducrot has built up a million-strong audience on TikTok, thanks to his fantastic songwriting and creative way of communicating with fans. Who is Cian Ducrot?
Cian Ducrot was born in Ireland on 30 August 1997.
- His mother was a strong woman, a concert pianist and flute player.
- His father was a despicable being who abused his mother, Cian and his brother.
He was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London to study classical flute on a full scholarship, but soon discovered that pop was his thing, releasing a mixtape called ‘Started in College’ in 2020.
- Cian Ducrot began performing flash mobs and posting them on TikTok, along with people’s reactions, in venues ranging from trains to lifts, reaching a huge audience.
The following year, 2021, he released multiple singles compiled on ‘Make Believe’ EP, but the breakthrough for Cian would come in 2022 with the ‘All for You‘ and especially ‘I’ll be waiting’, which led to the release of his long-awaited first album, ‘Victory’.

My dad was very abusive growing up both physically and sexually, my mother fought extremely hard to protect my brother and I, and to get us away from him.
When I asked my mom, How did you do it? she replied simply, ‘I had no choice so I figured it out.’ Never had I heard more inspiring words in my life.
This album represents that victory, the victory of self-belief, the victory of everyone around me who I love and who loved me back, the story of my brother, of my mother, of my grandparents, of my friends, and everyone who fought by our side every step of the way.

Cian Ducrot explained the meaning of ‘I’ll Be Waiting”:
It’s a story of waiting for someone you love to show up, but they tend to not show up when you need them.
That’s right, the song is about the frustration of waiting for someone close to you to change, but then they don’t.
The song is about Cian’s father as he confirmed:
I didn’t want to have a relationship with my dad as a child, he was a horrible person, but also when you’re a kid you still want your dad to care.
