Chica Sobresalto Fusión del Núcleo
For those of you who don’t know her, Maialen is a young woman from Spain, who has been composing as a way of expressing herself since she was 14 years old.
She went to a music TV show (Operacion Triunfo) in 2020, which has given more visibility to her character, Chica Sobresalto (Startled Girl).

In 2017 she released a first album with her band called “Sobresalto”, but her hatching as an artist is happening now, in 2021.
- She emerged with the single “Fusion del Nucleo (Core Fusion)”, in which she tell us her feeling in confinement, while introducing subtle female sexual liberation lyrics 👩🏽🦰
- She followed with a fantastic duet with Zahara called Adrenalina.
- Then came Selección Natural (Natural Selection) which talks about weakness. The video is lyrical and impressive
- And finally in May 2021 Chica Sobresalto released the full album, Sinapsis (Synapse).
The synapse is what occurs when neurons contact and transmit the nerve impulse. With this idea, Chica Sobresalto, composed songs related to different hormones in the body and what they make you feel, such as Oxitocina (Oxytocin) 🧫

Why is it called Chica Sobresalto?
Maialen Gurbindo started calling herself ‘Maialen Canta (Maialen Sings)‘ in the gigs she did in Spain. She always thought that life is not quiet, but a continuous startle, so when she recorded her first album she called it ‘Sobresalto (Startle)‘.
On the other hand, Maialen liked the world of superheroes, becoming a character, with which also gain self-esteem, and hence she decided to call herself ‘Chica Sobresalto (Startled Girl)‘. A true heroine 🦸🏽
