JAVI CHAPELA La Cosecha | A cry to mankind
With an indie pop-rock sound, lyrics full of feeling, nostalgia and experiences of all kinds, and a surprising maturity for his youth (23 years old in 2024), this Galician who combines studies, work and songs, launches ‘La Cosecha‘ 🧅, the single that should lead him to devote himself body and soul to music.
Who is Javi Chapela?
Javier Chapela was born in La Coruña (Spain) in 2002. Eighteen years later, in 2020, he already published his first short album ‘Malas Costumbres (Bad Habits)‘, surprising with a mature sound accompanied by a very deep voice.
- That personal style and voice of Javier would be shown in his live shows in small venues and festivals like the Galician ‘Caudal Fest’ where he played for the first time back in 2018 and where he returns recurrently.
In 2021 he would release two of the most special singles of his career to date:
- Marineda: A song dedicated to his hometown, A Coruña, where Javi talks about the nights that hopefully come back, the parties with friends, going out until the sun comes up and all those things we miss so much.
- Historias de estraperlo: One of his most intimate songs, dedicated to his grandparents and his mother. It is a letter where he expresses the things he would like to tell them and all those things he misses.
Both would be part of his second EP, ‘Crónica de una Recaída (Chronicle of a Relapse)‘. The third, ‘Ignorante Voluntario (Willfully Ignorant) ‘ would arrive only a year later, in 2022, along with his first music video, ‘Quédate‘.
Time would pass for Chapela between singles and concerts on the Spanish venue circuit, until he released a track with his viral Galician compatriot Iñigo Quintero called, ‘Sin Tiempo Para Bailar (No Time To Dance)’, which accumulated over 20M plays on Spotify.
2024 was a year of growth, marked by the magnificent track ‘La Cosecha (The harvest)‘ and his first live album ‘Live Studio‘.
The songs are a small part of me, it doesn’t matter the views or the reproductions, only that you feel them as much yours as I do.

La Cosecha | Best Javi Chapela Song
You only have to listen to the first few seconds of ‘La Cosecha’ to feel the energy it transmits. It might seem that it is simply an upbeat song, but far from it! Pay attention to the first verse:
Voy a ver si hay alguien nuevo en mi jardín (I’m going to see if there’s someone new in my garden).
He ido plantando varios tipos de hombres (I’ve been planting various kinds of men)
Bueno y malos comparten misma raíz (Good and bad share the same root)
Luego todo es cuestión de cómo se abonen (Then it’s all a matter of how they are fertilized)
Javi Chapela describes ‘La Cosecha’ as a song for all those people who work in tall buildings and sleep in suits, those who have turned their backs on their most essential passions and tastes, those who give their lives for a big corporate entity without seeing beyond their desk, as if it were their soccer team.
‘The Harvest’ is not a mockery or a mockery, it is a caricature of a reality that exists and that many of us are forced to accept for simply being part of the wheel.
Javi said:
“La Cosecha” is a shout in the air, a wake-up call, or simply a way to laugh a little at ourselves.
Javi is still trying to carve out a niche for himself in the music industry, while continuing his studies and doing an internship in a company. Undoubtedly, with songs like ‘La Cosecha’, we hope that Chapela consolidates his position as a reference in the Spanish music scene because we need artists like him.
By the way, Javi has just released a live album called ‘Live Studio’ where he recovers some of the best songs of his short but forceful career.

Lyrics | JAVI CHAPELA La Cosecha
Voy a ver si hay alguien nuevo en mi jardín
He ido plantando varios tipos de hombres
Letra in English | JAVI CHAPELA La Cosecha
I’m going to see if there’s anyone new in my garden.
I’ve been planting various types of men
Good and bad share the same root
Then it’s all a matter of how they’re fertilized.
Insecticides so I can’t sleep
It’s not a problem if I find reasons
They bloom little by little in my garden
I water them until they give me songs
And if in the end I’m close to reaching the goal
I’ll have to plant again, a new harvest
A new harvest
They all come out the same
Corrupted by evil
Where was that boy
You’d die to jump
From the top of those towers
Where you now earn your bread
You have lost your freshness
Let them plant you again!
Let them plant you again!
Deserters of the Madrid night
In my tie I wear a hundred thousand stripes
That I have harvested little by little in my garden
In the offices I’m an ace of balls
And if in the end I’m close to reaching the goal
I’ll have to plant again, a new harvest
A new harvest
A new harvest
They all come out the same
Corrupted by evil
Where is that boy left
You’d die to jump
From the top of those towers
Where you now earn your bread
You have lost your freshness
Let them plant you again!
Let them plant you again!
Let them plant you again!
