Kelly Jones, known for being the songwriter and singer of Stereophonics for the past 25 years, continues his evolution as an artist with an intimate vocal and piano album. ‘Inevitable Incredible’ is emotion, vulnerability and above all good music.
The origin of ‘Inevitable Incredible’
Kelly Jones is the songwriter, singer, guitarist and frontman of the Welsh rock band Stereophonics. He is mainly known for his somewhat husky and very powerful voice 🗣️.
After 25 years of commercial and critical success with Stereophonics, Jones teamed up with Dwight Baker and Patty Lynn in 2023 to create a band and album called ‘Far From Saints’, debuting in the top five of the UK album chart.
Kelly had no plans to write a solo album, but a few nights after putting his son to bed telling him stories of superheroes and other tales, he found the inspiration to write material with his piano that hid a very raw essence.
To keep that essence he decided to go to a remote island in the North Sea (in Norway) to record ‘Inevitable Incredible’ in a wild environment, practically in solitude, creating an album of great emotional depth.
The remote surroundings of the island studio allowed the songs to come to life and breathe, no distractions, it was such a new experience

There were no expectations for how the songs should sound. Just let the emotion and vulnerability I put into writing those songs come to life. The weather could change in a minute and there was little to no contact with the outside world. All this influenced how the songs came to be. It was a truly cathartic experience. I feel like I left it all out there on these songs.

You can tell Kelly Jones had to get this album out of her system, to do so she chose the intimacy of a piano, her voice and a few beautifully crafted arrangements.
Recorded in 6 days, the album includes 8 incredibly evocative cinematic songs in which Kelly moves away from the comfort of Stereophonics, exploring emotion and vulnerability.
The eight tracks that make up ‘Inevitable Incredible’ are a joy to listen to. From the wonderful ‘Time’s Running Away’ that tells us about the impossible struggle against the passing of time, to the Emotion of the Week ‘Echowrecked’, an introspective half-time in which Kelly confesses himself a slave of his own mind that on many occasions takes him to dark places. That same darkness fills ‘Monster in the house’ where he shifts the focus and talks about how his internal conflicts affect those around him.
