Synth-pop artist Roosevelt has shared his latest single, ‘In The Dark’, a kaleidoscopic track from the German DJ that combines funky, vibrant synths and hypnotic rhythm that grabs you.
Story behind ‘In The Dark’
The latest single from acclaimed producer, DJ, composer and multi-instrumentalist Roosevelt shows us someone in a sea of bewildering thoughts and emotions, with love as the only possible way out.
With a fusion of electronic music and funk, ‘In the Dark’ speaks of confusion and desire, of doubt and longing, of heartbreak and redemption.
Roosevelt’s ability to create atmospheric and enveloping sounds is unquestionable, but ‘In The Dark’ doesn’t stop there, it invites us to let ourselves be carried away by passionate movements in a place of darkness.
With more than 10 years of career behind him, Roosevelt is in his best moment, in full hype and together with Fred Again… is undoubtedly the most outstanding DJ of the current electronic music scene.

Who is Roosevelt?
Marius Lauber, known artistically as Roosevelt is a young synth-pop singer and songwriter originally from Germany.
Roosevelt’s first project was Beat!Beat!Beat! a teenage indie band, in which he was the drummer. After the band broke up, he decided to pursue a solo career.
His debut EP Elliot was released in 2013 with some incredible bass and synth sounds. After that he would release a few singles like ‘Night Moves’ and ‘Hold On’ with a warm synth-pop sound, which would lead to his first album titled ‘Roosevelt’ in 2016.
Roosevelt not only composes and plays the instruments on his songs but also sings all of them.
In 2018 he would release his second album, ‘Young Romance’, following his psychedelic and immersive style. The album didn’t make him take off despite having very good tracks like ‘Under the sun’, ‘Yr Love’ or ‘Lucia’.
- Roosevlet would make a Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Everywhere’ that appeared in the movie ‘We Bare Bears: The Movie’.

In 2021 would come their third studio album, ‘Polydans’. An album designed to dance and accelerate the heart with great songs like ‘Easy way out’.
- A year later, Roosevelt’s remix of Taylor Swift’s worldwide hit ‘Anti-Hero’.
His fourth album, ‘Embrace’, released in September 2023 received much praise. Recorded between rented studios and Airbnbs. With electrifying energy and euphoric funk, the album included 10 dancefloor-friendly tracks highlighting: ‘Ordinary Love’, ‘Luna’, ‘Paralyzed’, ‘Rising’ and ‘Forevermore’.
- Roosevelt has remixed artists such as Glass Animals, Jax Jones, Truls, Sundara Karma, Luka Vasta and Kakkmaddafakka.
Already in 2024 Roosevelt was giving away 2 new singles, ‘Automatic’ and the Emotion of the Week, the amazing ‘In The Dark’.
