HÄMATOM ft 257ERS Diego Maradona | A high dedicated to the Argentinian star
2024 was to be their year, a year in which to celebrate their 20th anniversary together, but a great tragedy struck the band when their bassist nicknamed WEST died suddenly. Hämatom could think of no better way to honor him than by making their tenth studio album, ‘Für Dich (For You)’. It includes another tribute, the one they make together with rappers 257ers to Diego Maradona.
Who is Hämatom?
Years ago, in an old haunted village in Franconian Switzerland, the band HÄMATOM was founded.
Hämatom, which means “Hematoma” is a very popular metal band in their native Germany. They belong to a current that there they define as NDH (Neue Deutsche Härte, New German Hardness), originated by Rammstein.
In their already 10 albums Hämatom has mixed industrial metal with an amalgam of styles creating multiple catchy and easy to chant songs, although they often deal with social, religious and socio-critical issues.
- The band is famous for their live performances, as well as organizing their own festivals: ‘Dämonentanz’ and ‘Das laute Abendmahl’.
- The band members always wear masks or face paint, as is the case with vocalist Nord.
Who is 257ers?
257ers is a German rap duo formed by Daniel Schneider and Mike Rohleder. They have released 10 studio albums and are an established group in Germany whose fans call them ‘the mutants’. 🧟

Diego Maradona |A double tribute song
After the death of their bassist West, for a long time it was unclear to Hämatom whether the band would continue.
In that period of grief they realized that only together they could overcome the pain of their loss. Thus they entered the studio composing a full-length album in honor of WEST. The band commented:
Make him immortal and build him the biggest monument we can.
Thus came “Für Dich”, Hämatom’s tenth studio album to be released in 2025.

One of the singles with which they introduce the album is ‘Diego Maradona’, a track for which they are assisted by German rappers 257ers. It’s a powerful anthem that celebrates the exceptional talent and legendary adventures of the soccer star.
Diego Maradona’ is inspired by the dazzling and controversial life and personality of the Argentinean soccer genius. The ups and downs, the victories and defeats, but above all the boundless passion for soccer, is what the song is about, which with a breakneck rhythm tries to capture the wild life Maradona led.
The result is a very catchy track that invites us to enjoy life to the fullest, to take risks and celebrate moments of joy and happiness, just like Maradona himself did.
