Aric and Stephen form House of Protection, a safe space where creativity and chaos thrive without boundaries. ‘GALORE’ is a multidimensional music album that fulfills all the expectation it had generated.
Who are House of Protection?
House of Protection is the new venture of Californians Stephen Harrison and Aric Improta, the former guitarist and ex-drummer of the band Fever 333, with whom they were with from 2017 until 2022.
Stephen first burst onto the music scene playing guitar in The Chariot, while Aric became known as the drummer for Night Verses.
House of Protection explain their music like this:
It is a sanctuary for those who surrender to impulses.
The band masterfully blends hardcore, electronica and punk while abandoning tradition and unearthing a sound that takes them further than ever before.
Teaming up with friends Jordan Fish (ex Bring Me The Horizon) and Nick DePirro (Night Verses), they created the debut single ‘It’s Supposed To Hurt’.
- The phrase, “It’s Supposed To Hurt”, quickly became the motto of House of Protection, whose name was inspired by a Massive Attach song called ‘Protection’, along with the fact that they wanted to build something that would protect their creativity and ideas, i.e. their house.

GALORE | House of Protection’s debut album
GALORE, House of Protection’s debut album is fearless and effective, an album that in the words of its members attempts to blur the line between the audience and the artists.
We wanted to create something where all our ideas, no matter how wild, felt safe.
On the basis of rap, punk-hardcore and electronica, House of Protection build a hugely promising first album:
- Pulling Teeth 🦷: This song mixes rap, pop-punk and heavy bass lines into a sonic explosion that hooks us from the get-go.
- Fuse 🫨: The perfect blend of electronic music and delicate vocals.
- Learn To Forget 👨🏫: The rhythm, the riffs, the drum beats, everything resembles the music that the duo House of Protection played when they were little. ‘Learn To Forget’ is a hardcore track with screeching guitars and guttural screams that leaves you breathless.
- Being One 🕐: A song with electronic elements reminiscent of their past works. It’s a breath in the middle of ‘Galore’ that moves away from hardcore and still has a hypnotic touch with beautiful shoegaze vocals.
- It’s Supposed To Hurt 🩸: House of Protection’s first single is also the first song in which its members, Aric and Stephen sing. Both have discovered a voice they didn’t know they had.
- Better Off 👬: A track that leaves us with a fantastic final taste with its powerful synthesizers.
One of the best drummers of our time has teamed up with a guitar genius and both have discovered a voice and a sound. All that is to come can only be even better.
