Who is Jessie Murph?
Jessie Murph was born on September 22, 2004 in Athens, a small conservative town in Alabama, USA.
She fell in love with music at the age of 13 when she attended a Chris Tomlin stadium concert, at that moment she thought, “Someday I’ll be there” 💪
He started uploading cover videos to YouTube. They all reached thousands of views which encouraged her to continue. From there she moved on to TikTok, where at 17 she began to go viral. This led her to sign her first record deal with Columbia Records in 2021, releasing her first single ‘Upgrade‘.
- It was well received, but it would be his next song ‘Always Been You’ that would be the first to enter the charts.
In 2021 she released ‘When I’m Not Around‘ as a response to the bullying she had faced in her high school, something that made her stronger.
- In 2023 she released ‘Drowning’, a mixtape that included her hit ‘Pray’.
Her first Top 40 in the United States would come thanks to her collaboration with Jelly Roll on the track Wild Ones, a song that would be included in her first album released in 2024, ‘That Ain’t No Man That’s the Devil‘.

With a very Amy Winhouse style, 19-year-old Jesse Murph presents us with a project featuring 12 tracks co-written entirely by herself.
The album screams that Murph is capable of absolutely anything, rapping, country, pop, but most of all singing, really singing.
- The album begins with ‘Gotta Hold ‘ which speaks to the inner conflicts that lead to self-boycott.
- Soon comes one of the highlights, ‘Dirty‘ a duet with the great Teddy Swims, portrays a man who is like a devil, but at the same time irresistible.
- Son of a Bitch‘, like its title, is very explicit. Jessie feels cheated and she’s not going to take it.
- We jump to what for us is the best track of ‘That ain’t no man that’s the devil’. We are talking about ‘I Hope It Hurts‘, where Jessie Murph makes a vocal display worthy of the best vocalists in the world. Lyrically she expresses her wish for her partner to suffer as much as she has.
- Another highlight is ‘Wild Ones’, with Jelly Roll, with which Jessie accumulates more than 200 million listens. Of course the girl knows how to surround herself well.
- Another outstanding collaboration is the one with Koe Wetzel in the song ‘High Road’, one of the songs with a more defined country style. In the song she decides to overcome a toxic relationship with maturity and self-love.

The whole album shows a Murph hurting, but with the determination to come out stronger, in a mix of genres that in no way overshadow the best thing on the album, Jessie Murph’s stunning vocals.
