Not content with the great album, ‘Para Olvidarte (To Forget You)‘, Sebastián Llosa publishes in 2024 a new single together with LAGOS called ‘Igual de Gris (Same Grey)‘. We tell you all about this Peruvian singer-songwriter destined for glory.
Who is Sebastián Llosa?
Sebastián is the nephew of the famous writer Mario Vargas Llosa (his aunt was married to him). He was born on June 1, 1992 into a family of artists. His father, Luis Llosa, is a filmmaker and his aunt, Roxana Valdivieso, a singer.
Sebastián never dared to dedicate himself to music, in fact he graduated in Economics at Yale University and worked for a while as a journalist in the Spanish newspaper El País. But that life didn’t make him happy, so he switched to soap operas, participating in two (“Súbete a mi moto” and “Los Vílchez”), but in reality he did all that for fear of singing to people 😨.
When he decided to take the plunge, he did it in an almost self-taught way. His first track was in 2016, ‘Let me go‘, in collaboration with Stephanie Cayo and BRAVVO. A dance song that did not quite square with the style he wanted to represent. The following year he would publish ‘For your love‘, closer to the sound he was looking for, but still not very personal.
At the moment he switched to Spanish and stopped writing thinking about creating a hit, but to compose from the heart, success came. It would be in 2022 with ‘Alguien Más (Somebody else)‘.

- As a tribute Sebastián released as his next single ‘Corea (Korea)‘.
Llosa’s fans, who call themselves ‘Blue Moon’, continued to support him until he managed to sign with a record company and give his first concerts in Lima and Mexico.
Sebastian would continue releasing singles in 2023 until his album ‘Para Olvidarte’, released in 2024.

Actually this whole album tells a kind of heartbreak story, it’s also about meeting someone new and having to let go of that previous person, but having a very difficult time letting go.

All the songs on ‘Para Olvidarte (To forget you)‘ are autobiographical and a bit nostalgic. Sebastian said when releasing the album:
Since I started making music almost ten years ago I dream of this moment. The road has been long, difficult and full of doubts and frustrations, but the effort and perseverance (which sometimes bordered on madness) were worth it.
The album compiles 12 songs that capture Llosa’s personal process of learning to let go of things he was holding on to:

There is no bad one, from the fantastic song that opens the album ‘Para Olvidarte’, through ‘El Plan’ or the great song ‘Enemigos’, Llosa’s music is full of energy, rhythm and good Pop. With touches of the 80’s and personal lyrics, Sebastian has entered the music scene through the big door, something that ratifies the other 2 singles he has released apart from the album in 2024:
- Ve y Diles (Go and tell them): The Peruvian, who now lives in Miami, met Álex Ponce from Cuenca there, with whom he recorded what will end up being one of the most listened to Spanish songs in 2024. It has been so successful that a remix version was released with Lasso under the title ‘Ve y Diles V2 (Remix)’.
- Igual de Gris (Same grey): Accompanied by LAGOS, Sebastián continues to surprise us with his compositional ability. ‘Igual de Gris’ is a real cannon of a song, a beautiful melody and lyrics that anyone can identify with. The trio with LAGOS works perfectly.
