P!NK Trustfall | She will never not dance again
Trustfall is the ninth and, in her own words, favorite album by the great American singer Pink (P!nk), the consequence of a very difficult period in her life that changed Pink’s perspective on everything.
What inspired Trustfall, P!nk new album?
Pink has 2 children with husband Carey Hart, Willow Sage, 11, and Jameson Moon, 5. Her experience with them over the past few years is infused into the album:
I had time and I had a lot of really devastating things happen. My son and I got really sick with COVID. That sort of distilled down for me what actually matters. And it takes a crisis to do that. It takes your kids getting sick to be like, ‘Okay, none of this matters. I wanna see my kids grow up. That’s what I want.’ I want to only put truth into the world. I want to only be authentic. And I want to be kinder and a better person.
I just started making music and making — speaking in melody. And it came together… My album is a piece of me, and I think that I am an example of how you can live authentically and fearlessly, in ways.

Trustfall | Story behind Pink’s new album
On top of everything that has happened to Pink in the last few years, she lost her father, Jim Moore, in 2021. That reminded her that the time we have is limited, a thought she has reflected in many of the songs on the album such as ‘Never not gonna dance again’.
- This vital single co-written by the world’s most famous producer, Max Martin, tells us about all the things in life that Pink loves.
- Never Not Gonna Gonna Dance Again has a curious back story: Pink was at the beach one day with her kids and was in her swimsuit 🏖️. She wasn’t very comfortable with her body and when her kids asked her to run and play, she said no. Then she thought of the opportunity for a fun and memorable time she had missed and said it would never happen again, she would never not dance again.
Trustfall has many wonderful tracks such as:
- Trustfall: This song that gives name to the album, is collaboration with another of our EotW (Emotion of the Week), Fred Again. It speaks of confidence, of the feeling of falling backwards, not knowing when the ground will come. Trustfall is the word with which P!nk defines life.
- When I Get There: Super emotional track dedicated to her father, a Vietnam War veteran who passed away from cancer, to whom she says: “I think of you when I think about forever“.
- Runaway: This mid-tempo song encourages us to run away from the negative and look for a new place where we can be free and happy.
- Last Call: A call to fix your problems with your partner, friend or loved one while there is still time.
- Hate Me: A song that reminds us of her punk beginnings with a very cool rhythm in which she tells her husband not to make her the villain of his story and to be responsible for his own life and decisions.
If there is a song in Trustfall in which P!nk displays her enormous vocal power and all the emotion she is capable of transmitting when singing, it is ‘Our Song’, where she passionately tells of a relationship that is ending, of which she no longer remembers even the lyrics.

P!NK 'Our Song' Lyrics
Where to start
When only love breaks your heart
Watching this fall apart
As we dance in the dark
Eyes wide shut
Where did we lose our touch
I needed you so damn much
Why is everything hard
We win in the war
But you lose so much more
Is it worth it, I don’t understand
Used to die for each other
That song made us lovers
All over and over again
Now we don’t know even know the words to it anymore
And you don’t look at me that way like you did before
Now it’s just another song on the dance floor
And we don’t even know the words to it anymore
Took for granted
Both of us empty-handed
But if I had one more chance
I would do it again
We win in the war
But you lose so much more
Is it worth it, I don’t understand
Float away in the covers
That song made us lovers
All over and over again
Now we don’t know even know the words to it anymore
Oh, you don’t look at me that way like you did before
Oh-oh, oh, now it’s just another song on the dance floor
And we don’t even know the words to it anymoreNa-na-na-na-na-na, na, na-na-na-na
Oh, na-na-na-na-na-na, na, na-na-na-na
And now it’s just another song on the dance floor
And we don’t even know the words to it anymoreNa-na-na-na-na-na, na, na-na-na-na
La-la-la-la-la-la-de, la-la-la-de
