SHAZNAY LEWIS Pages | Some things stay with you to the grave
Two decades later, after dedicating himself to motherhood, once having broken up and returned with his band, All Saints, on a couple of occasions, even having dedicated himself to composing for others, LEWIS returns solo with ‘Pages’, a modern and eclectic Pop album reminiscent of the two biggest hits of his career: ‘Pure Shores‘ and ‘Never Ever‘.
Who is Shaznay Lewis?
Tricia Marie “Shaznay” Lewis, is a London singer and songwriter, former member of the all-female band All Saints, who rose to popularity in the late 1990s, having released 4 studio albums All Saints, Saints & Sinners, Studio 1, in 2006, Red Flag in 2016 and the most recent, Testament in 2018, selling 11 million records in total.
Shaznay, who is a very good footballer, having played for Arsenal L.F.C., started in music at the age of 13 doing vocals for other artists in a studio called Metamorphosis, located in London, on ‘All Saints’ Street, from where she would take the name for the group she would form in 1993 with Melanie Blatt, Nicole and Natalie Appleton.
Lewis was the author of most of the songs of All Saints the group, including two of the great songs of British pop of the beginning of the century: Pure Shores and Never Ever.
She has participated in two films: Bend It Like Beckham (2002) and Hideous Man (2002). Musically, he released his first solo album in 2004 under the name ‘Open’.
Only 20 years later we can enjoy a new solo album by Shaznay Lewis, the fantastic ‘Pages’ released in 2024.

Pages | Shaznay Lewis’ new album
Pages is Shaznay’s second studio album, independently released under her own label ‘1.9.7.5 Recordings’.
The 12 tracks of Lewis’ second solo work have been composed by her in a brilliant exercise of classic-contemporary British R&B and pop excellence.
The most outstanding tracks of the album and which have also been the singles chosen to present it are:
- Miracle
- Kiss of life: The Emotion of the Week, dedicated to her teenage children, who appear with her in the song’s video.
- Good Mourning [ft. Shola Ama & General Levy].
- Got to let go
Shaznay said on Pages:
I pull on past experiences, past feelings, which is how the drama is written; and I love drama in music […]. At the same time I was visualizing and experiencing a lot of things throughout making the record, life gives you plenty to draw on.
From the emotion of children becoming adults, which Lewis is currently experiencing, to the relationship of African-Americans and Brits, ‘Pages’ touches on many themes with a sound that demonstrates Shaznay Pages’ compositional maturity and mastery.
