Who is Henry Moodie?
Henry Moodie is a rising star from Guildford, UK, who, just turned 20 in 2024, is breaking it with every single he releases.
When he was 11 years old, Henry Moodie began playing guitar on the advice of his mother, a psychotherapist, to channel his emotions through music.
At 14, he was attending songwriting sessions in London on weekends at the prestigious BIMM music school. Henry would leave school at 16 to play with a band.
As a teenager he opened a YouTube channel and another on TikTok where he played tracks by his idols, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran, amassing a small fan base.
Moodie would leave his band to pursue his solo career debuting in 2022 with the hit single ‘You were there for me‘. With it he garnered over 90 million plays on Spotify.
- He later appeared as an opening act on The Vamps’ stadium tour and at Mimi Webb and Lauren Spencer Smith’s concerts.
His next single ‘Drunk Test’, released in 2023, would become a smash hit with over 320 million streams on Spotify and 100 million views on YouTube. Thanks to this he would be named one of the “Artists to Watch in 2023”, going out on his first headlining tour, ‘Lonely Nights Tour’, with 18 sold out concerts in Europe and Great Britain.
In 2024 he would release his first EP ‘In all of my lonely nights’, followed by 3 fantastic singles: beat up car, bad emotions and right person, wrong time. All this has led to his second EP ‘good old days’.

Henry Moodie surprises you at first listen, vulnerability, melody and expression are words that emanate in each of his songs. Surely the fact of having a psychotherapist mother gave him the magical ability to bring out the feelings in every lyric he writes.
To that she adds a good musical training and why not to say it, a certain grace in her social networks 📱
- 2023 was his year of explosion, 2024 is being the one of consolidation.
It would start with the short album ‘In all of my lonely nights (En todas mis noches de soledad)’, which includes six songs to enjoy:
1. drunk test:This is the origin of the song in the words of Henry himself
I remember I was at a party with some of my closest friends from home, and i soooo nearly sent a drunk text to one of my other friends saying that I wanted to be more than friends. but instead, i sat at the piano the next day, and came up with the chorus for drunk text.
Luckily, I had a songwriting session the next day, so I bought it into the studio, and we finished the full song in a few hours!! we ended up tweaking it for a couple months and finally settled on the version that we have today. I had NO IDEA it would resonate with this many people
2. pick up the phone:Henry tells us the meaning:
this song is a message to my younger self, reminding him it’s all gonna be okay in the end! when life gets dark sometimes it’s easy to catastrophise and go into a negative spiral BUT things DO get better! this song is a reminder that we all need bad days to grow & learn – if we didn’t we wouldn’t appreciate the good ones🤷♂️. my mission with this song is to bring hope & motivation to people who are in a bad place <3 remember to reach out to someone if you need help!
3. orbit: Imaginative lyrics describing the excitement of a new romance.
4. you were there for me: A beautiful lyric for a beautiful song:

5. fight or flight: This song is the second chapter of a three-part trilogy on heartbreak, which includes “orbit” and “closure”. A track for anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed by a turning point in a relationship, not knowing where things are headed and the internal turmoil they feel from that sense of instability.
6. closure: If you are in love with your ex, this song is for you 🫶

Henry was not satisfied with releasing his first EP in 2024, so he kept releasing new singles until he released his second EP ‘good old days’:
1. good old days: What a way to start an EP! Energy, nostalgia and a lot of zest for life, as Henry’s mother always told him:
Don’t you wait for better times
You’ll never find them if you’re standing in the line
Always remember how to live, not just survive
2. right person, wrong time: The cut is about looking back at a previous relationship that ended – or situationship, actually, it wasn’t even a relationship – and sort of feeling like maybe it could have ended up being way bigger than it should have been. It could have actually been the love of your life if it was at the right time… So, it’s like, yearning about a previous relationship – being like, ‘Maybe this could have been something, I don’t know, and still not fully over your ex’.
3. still dancing: It is without a doubt one of the saddest songs Henry has ever written. It starts as a slow ballad and ends up making us jump on the dance floor.
4. beat up car: An ode to simplicity and authenticity in the midst of a chaotic and changing world.
5. bad emotions: Henry explained
i wrote this song as a way to cope after having a panic attack on the way to my studio, and it’s got me thinking maybe everything really does happen for a reason. i hope this song can help anyone going through a hard time, i promise things will get better – it’s just some bad emotions🤍
6. the old me: The last track ‘good old days’ tells of Henry’s desire to go back in time to his younger self, when nothing really mattered and you were a carefree optimist.
Henry Moodie who at 20 years old says he feels like the luckiest man in the world to be able to have music as a job, has already earned a place in the hearts of millions of fans 🫀 And this has only just begun!
