Ina Wroldsen More

Ina Wroldsen, born in Norway in 1984, is a singer and songwriter who spent the first 10 years of her career writing music and lyrics for other artists.

The list is endless: Calvin Harris, Shakira, Jess Glynne, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, The Pussycat Dolls, Leona Lewis, Little Mix, Olly Murs, The Saturdays, One Direction…

In 2013 she formed a Dance music duo with the Icelandic Arnthor Birgisson. Their name was Ask Embla.

  • Their only album, “Northern Lights“, was among the most played of the year in Norway. No wonder because the record is awesome. We especially like Father’s Eyes 👁️👁️

After her time in Ask Embla, she decided to start a solo career using her own name, Ina Wroldsen. She would thus release several singles, Aliens (Her Er Jeg) in 2014, Rebels in 2015 and St. Peter, Mary’s Story and Lay It On Me in 2016. The latter was No. 2 on Spotify.

Ina had always been into bodies of work. Until then she couldn’t release a complete album due to her other duties as songwriter. That changed in 2018 when she found the time to create HEX:

  • It’s a 4-song EP in which each song was given a character from Scandinavian folklore. Furthermore, each character was at some point in time conjured from human fear.

Ina carried on composing great tunes like: Favela (ft. Alok) or Lie to me (ft. Steve Aoki) in 2018, Obsessed (ft. Dinoro), Body Parts, I Feel Ya, Forgive or Forget and Haloes in 2019, and Pale Horses in 2020.

Ina Wroldsen Matters of the Mind

In 2021 Ina Wroldsen released her new album, Matters of the Mind, composed by 4 deep cuts. She explains us the meaning of each one:

More: It is about the kind of love that borders madness. If you can find safety and peace in that kind of love, it truly is the best kind.

🦋 We Are Gonna Live: No matter what, I truly believe that we should enjoy every day of this life. Some days it is hard seeing past our issues and conditions, but what I think is really important to remember is that every day we wake up lucky enough to experience being alive.

⚖️ Matters: I got so many matters on my mind, got so many matters and I’m trying not to let them weigh me down. Trying not to, but they weigh me down.

🔥 Fires:Becoming a mother is a double-edged sword. It has been a gift, but I also know that one day my son will leave me. I just have to make sure I have enough wood so that he can see my fire wherever he is in the world. So that he knows there is warmth, acceptance and security in the home of the people who love him most.
