Eurovision 2022 | Winner, Fun Facts, Best Songs…

eurovision 2022

From 10 to 14 May, Turin (Italy), hosted Eurovision 2022, the 66th edition of the world’s biggest international music festival. After Måneskin‘s victory at Eurovision 2021, we experienced the most political Eurovision Song Contest ever, with the expulsion of Russia, and Ukraine as the winner

Eurovision 2022 winner

Eurovision Song Contest Ukraine

1.- UKRAINE

Artist: Kalush Orchestra
Song: Stefania

Not without controversy, because the chosen singer, Alina Pash, withdrew for allegedly being close to Russia, came the obvious winner of ESC 2022, Kalush Orchestra.

Immersed in the war, the vocalist is in charge of distributing medicines and helping the inhabitants of his country to flee the war. Another colleague works in a territorial defence unit, and what’s more, they have not been able to rehearse together.

We promise all Ukrainians that we will live up to their choice. In difficult times for our country, we will make our presence known throughout the world ✊

Ukraine won thanks to the people vote, so they are the well deserved winners. ¡Congratulations!

Top 6 in Eurovision 2022

Eurovision Song Contest UK

2.- UNITED KINGDOM

Artist: Sam Ryder
Song: Space Man

How a person’s life can change in 1 year thanks to social media.

Sam Ryder uploaded his first cover on TikTok while we were in confinement, in a short time he reached 12 million followers and is already releasing singles where he demonstrates his amazing vocal ability 🗣️ Sam told us:

Being a Eurovision fan since I was a kid, I’m very honoured to have this opportunity.

Showcasing a song I wrote with my friends last summer makes the whole experience even more special.

Eurovision Song Contest SPAIN

3.- SPAIN

Artist: Chanel
Song: SloMo

Spain entered Eurovision 2022 with a Cuban singer, Chanel, and a song written for Jennifer Lopez, SloMo, which is short for “Slow Motion”.

Her choice came with a lot of controversy because the public preferred 2 other songs, among them, ¡Ay mamá! by Rigoberta Bandini, but the jury’s vote gave the victory to Chanel.

The truth is that she is more than prepared, having participated in multiple musicals, such as Mamma Mia and The Lion King.

Eurovision Song Contest SWEDEN

4.- SWEDEN

Artist: Cornelia Jakobs
Song: Hold me closer

Sweden is always favourite. We reckon they had a better chance in other years, nevertheless, the odds place them in the Top 3.

Cornelia Jakobs, 30, won the difficult Eurovision pre-selection in her country, the Melodifestivalen. She comes from a family of artists and has been in music for more than 10 years, so the makings are there.

Eurovision Song Contest sERBIA

5.- SERBIA

Artist: Konstrakta
Song: In corpore sano

A peculiar track that talks about the importance of health and asks “What is the secret of Megan Markle’s health?“.

Surprisingly, it ended on a great fifth position, thanks to the popular vote.

Eurovision Song Contest Italy

6.- ITALY

Artist: Mahmood & Blanco
Song: Brividi (Shivers)

We have already included Brividi among the best songs of 2022, and its composers, Mahmood and Blanco, are taking Italy by storm.

Winners of the prestigious San Remo 2022 Festival, and hosts of Eurovision 2022, they have everything to repeat their victory.

Best 10 Eurovision 2022 Songs (for Trembol 😙)

Eurovision Song Contest Austria

1.- AUSTRIA

Artist: LUM!X feat. Pia Maria
Song: Halo
Energy and good vibes, that’s why we think Luca (DJ LUM!X) and Pia Maria bring the best song of the year to ESC 2022.

Both are young stars:

  • LUM!X rose to fame with his remix of “Monster“.
  • Pia Maria is not only a musician, but also a professional make-up artist in the Tyrol 💄

Eurovision Song Contest AZERBAIJAN

2.- AZERBAIJAN

Artist: Nadir Rustamli
Song: Fade to Black
Selected out of 300 songs, Nadir, 22, has been studying music since he was a child. He created his own band, Sunrise, during his university years, and after going through several competitions, such as The Voice and YouthVision, he arrives at the festival with a great ballad.

Pay special attention to the final part of the song, which could give him the victory. Sheer emotion!

Eurovision Song Contest Poland

3.- POLAND

Artist: Ochman
Song: River
Ochman is also among the betting favourites, for his beautiful ‘River‘, for his sweet voice that made him win ‘The Voice Poland‘, and for keeping a musical family tradition, his grandfather is an opera singer and his father a keyboard player.

Eurovision Song Contest Malta

4.- MALTA

Artist: Emma Muscat
Singer: I Am What I Am
‘Take it or leave it, I am who I am’, that’s what Emma tells us. This Maltese swept her country’s pre-selection and her 2018 debut album, “Moments”, is among the top 3 best-selling albums of that year in Italy.

Eurovision Song Contest Estonia

5.- ESTONIA

Artist: Stefan
Song: Hope
Estonia brings the Wild West to the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. It does so with a singer who must think that where there’s a will there’s a way, as in 2018, 2019 and 2020, he tried to represent his country, but was not chosen 🥺

Eurovision Song Contest France

6.- FRANCE

Artist: Alvan & Ahez
Song: Fulenn
Inspired by Celtic mythology, “Fulenn” tackles the Breton legend of a young girl who flees social norms by dancing at night bathed in the light of a bonfire 🔥

Multi-instrumentalist Alan, and traditional music trio Ahez, have plenty of possibilities.

Eurovision Song Contest finland

7.- FINLAND

Artist: The Rasmus
Song: Jezebel
Perhaps the only established group in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

The Rasmus have been together for 30 years and are one of Finland’s most internationally successful bands. Proof of this is their 2003 hit “In The Shadows”, whose story we tell you in our Best Heavy Metal Playlist.

Jezebel is about strong, independent women making their own way.

Eurovision Song Contest Romania

8.- ROMANIA

Artist: WRS
Song: Llámame (Call me)
WRS, a 29-year-old singer and dancer, sings in Spanish and English.

He brings the most colourful staging to Eurovision 2022 🌈

Eurovision Song Contest Montenegro

9.- MONTENEGRO

Artist: Vladana
Song: Breathe
Vladana dedicates this beautiful song to her mother who died from Covid-19:

It is a tribute to all the victims all over the world and their families, who have gone through hell when their loved ones were struggling to breathe, and even today there are still many….

I hear you, I feel you and I support you with this song! They could have lived longer and now they are numbers, statistics. We should not forget them…

Eurovision Song Contest CZECH REPUBLIC

10.- CZECH REPUBLIC

Artist: We Are Domi
Song: Lights Off
What was meant to be a one-day thing when they met at university has turned into an electro-pop band looking to pursue music full time.

Eurovision is certainly a good place to start, so we wish We Are Domi the best of luck! 🤞
