‘At Your Worst‘ meaning
By Calum Scott’s own account, ‘At Your Worst’ was born out of the realisation that sometimes it can be difficult to be loved because of anxieties, time away, self-doubt, but also out of the realisation that we are all worthy of being loved no matter what our flaws or insecurities.
It could be a song to reassure someone that you will love them no matter what, but it is also a song for yourself: a reminder to love yourself in your worst moments, because self-love is the most important thing.

‘At Your Worst’ was originally written from a place of insecurity, worrying that sometimes I’m difficult to love but also the realisation that we should all be loved at our worst moments, we are all worthy of it.

Calum Scott appeared on the music scene in 2018 with two magical songs that already treasure billions of streams: Dancing on my own and You are the reason.
- Both belong to his debut album ‘Only Human‘.
In the middle of 2022 he released hi acclaimed and spectacular second album ‘Bridges’.
By 2023 Scott had already teamed up with DJ Jax Jones on ‘Whistle‘, but the big moment was yet to come, the release of ‘At Your Worst’.
This track moves away from his trademark piano ballads, introducing a lush, shimmering sound. However, Calum wanted to give a nod to his fans, covering ‘At Your Worst’ on acoustic with a more intimate atmosphere, which, in Calum’s own words, will make you cry to or get married to 😅
- Not content with that, he’s also released a version featuring German rising star Zoe Wees.
Our favourite and EotW (Emotion of the Week) is the original version of ‘At Your Worst‘ for its nostalgic and retro sound.
